The company currently has a vacant position for a Sales Engineer – PowerGen, to be based in Johannesburg.
Objective of Job
· Carry out a variety of sales duties including prospecting for leads, engaging with potential customers and providing them with quotations for the PowerGen solutions.
· Collaborate with the engineering and finance teams on various sales opportunities, using in-depth knowledge of the market and potential customer’s needs. In addition to being a good communicator, the successful incumbent is required to be a creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Performance Areas & Duties
· Find new opportunities to sell RRPS products and solutions in power generation (Diesel, Gas, PV and Battery technology)
· Regular customer and consultant visits to promote RRPS products and solutions in power generation (and other applications where need be) and to build long term partnerships
· Gathering of market and competitive intelligence
· Build and sustain excellent customer relationships
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities
· Effective self-management, performance ownership
· Compile and delivering technical presentations to potential customers and consultants
· Clear understanding of the available products within the market and the RRPS solutions
· Maintain knowledge of products, technologies and policies
· Sales lead tracking and reporting on a regular basis to Head of Power Solutions and Engineering
· Coordinate with other engineers, management, finance and the sales engineers
· Driving the preparation of technical and commercial offers
· Although the main focus will be powergen application, the successful candidate will be required to produce OE sales in other applications like rail, marine and industrial
Requirements
· N6 technical qualification or equivalent thereof
· Willing to travel extensively
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
· Accurate and strong attention to detail
· Proficient in MS Office
· Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
· Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
· Internally driven to achieve success.
Beneficial Competencies
· B.Eng. (Electrical), B.Sc. (Electrical), B.Tech (Electrical)
· Experience in power generation industry (specifically diesel and gas generator solutions)
· Experience in sales and/or business development
· Proven track record in sales in power generation
