The Opportunity
This role is a pure outbound role.
Blacfox generates pipeline for some of South Africa’s leading technology companies — running outbound campaigns that put our clients in front of CTOs, CISOs, IT Directors, and senior business leaders. This role sits at the centre of that effort. You will run appointment setting campaigns for multiple B2B technology clients simultaneously — researching your targets, working your lists, handling objections, and booking qualified meetings with senior decision-makers.
This is not a volume-dialling call center role where you read from a script and hope for the best. The prospects we target are experienced, commercially literate, and will see through any setter who doesn’t know what they’re selling. This role demands genuine product understanding, commercial intelligence, and the confidence to hold your own in a conversation with a senior buyer.
Skill Requirements
Non-Negotiable
- Outbound B2B Experience: 2–3 years of cold calling experience. You have worked a list, booked meetings, and can demonstrate an acceptable conversion rate
- Proven Track Record: Booking meetings with senior decision-makers that showed up and qualified—not just booking for the sake of numbers
- Commercial Intelligence: Ability to understand what you’re selling well enough to speak to it naturally, not recite it. You can hold a credible conversation with a CTO or Managing Partner without flinching
- CRM Discipline: You treat your data as a professional output, not an afterthought
- Coachable: You’ve outperformed in your current or previous role but you know there’s more to learn. You respond to feedback by adjusting, not defending
Strong Indicators
- Experience selling into the Microsoft partner ecosystem, technology sector, or professional services—accounting, legal, financial services
- Exposure to multi-campaign environments where you’ve had to context-switch between different products and ICPs
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and an understanding of why accurate logging matters beyond your own targets
- Demonstrated ability to self-diagnose—you review your own calls, identify what broke down, and fix it without being told
What We Are Not Looking For
- Candidates who rely on scripts to conduct calls. Our campaigns require genuine product knowledge and the ability to adapt in real time.
- Candidates driven purely by commission with no interest in developing their craft. This role sits inside a structured development program — you will be coached weekly and expected to grow.
- Candidates who prioritise volume over quality. A poorly qualified booking is worse than no booking on our campaigns.
