Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including TRACTOR MOWERS , ZERO TURNS dump trucks, and front loader trucks to perform road repairs, grading, paving, and excavation tasks.
- Conduct construction activities on roadways, ensuring proper installation of asphalt, concrete, and other materials for durable repairs.
- Locate underground utilities accurately using utility locating equipment to prevent damage during excavation projects.
- Maintain and repair roads by performing tasks such as patching potholes, clearing debris, and applying sealants to extend pavement life.
- Assist in construction site preparation by setting up barriers, signage, and safety measures for ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during heavy equipment operation and construction activities.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or dump trucks is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices related to road maintenance and paving.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with utility locating techniques to identify underground infrastructure before excavation.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
