Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management coupled with at least four years’ of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Previous work experience in a higher education institution will be an added advantage.

Duties

• Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and monitor institutional risks to ensure effective mitigation strategies are implemented and maintained.
  • Develop and update risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.

• Operational Planning & Implementation

  • Coordinate and support the development of operational plans aligned to the institution’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor implementation progress and ensure corrective actions are taken where required.

• Risk Reporting

  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely risk management reports to relevant committees and management structures.
  • Maintain comprehensive risk registers and ensure they are regularly updated and communicated.

• Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure awareness and compliance with risk policies.

• Fraud Prevention and Management

  • Implement fraud prevention measures and support investigations into alleged fraudulent activities.
  • Promote a culture of ethical behaviour and ensure adherence to fraud prevention policies.

• Insurance Management

  • Oversee institutional insurance matters, including identifying insurance needs and coordinating claims processes.
  • Liaise with insurers and brokers to ensure adequate coverage and timely policy renewals.
