Mission and objectives
Mission The mission of this assignment is to strengthen the quality, accuracy, clarity, and educational value of content produced by Youth Development Correspondents across Africa. The volunteer will support the African Lecture Series and the Voices of the Emerging Africa platform by reviewing, editing, and improving articles, scripts, briefing notes, and educational materials on youth development, employment, entrepreneurship, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and community development. Objectives 1. Review submitted content for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and quality. 2. Ensure that content is understandable to a broad audience while maintaining factual accuracy. 3. Improve the structure, readability, and presentation of articles and scripts. 4. Verify references, sources, and supporting information where necessary. 5. Support contributors in improving research and communication skills. 6. Help establish editorial standards and content guidelines. 7. Ensure consistency across content produced by correspondents from different countries. 8. Support the publication of high-quality educational resources for African youth. 9. Contribute to the development of a credible and trusted knowledge platform. 10. Help increase awareness of youth development opportunities, policies, and institutions across Africa.
Context
The 21st Century African Youth Movement (AYM) is building a continent-wide network of Youth Development Correspondents who research and communicate information about youth policies, opportunities, institutions, and development initiatives across Africa. As contributors produce articles, reports, scripts, and educational content, maintaining quality, accuracy, and consistency becomes essential. The Review and Edit Youth Development Content volunteer will help ensure that information shared through the African Lecture Series and Voices of the Emerging Africa platform meets high editorial standards and remains useful to young people, policymakers, educators, development practitioners, and the public. This assignment plays an important role in building a trusted knowledge platform that helps African youth access information that can improve employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, education, leadership, and civic participation. Volunteers from all countries are encouraged to apply.

Task description
The volunteer will support the editorial review process for content submitted by Youth Development Correspondents from across Africa. The volunteer will review articles, scripts, policy summaries, briefing notes, educational materials, and related content before publication. Responsibilities include: * Reviewing written content for grammar, clarity, and structure. * Improving readability and audience engagement. * Checking content for consistency with editorial guidelines. * Reviewing citations, references, and supporting sources. * Identifying factual inconsistencies and areas requiring clarification. * Providing constructive feedback to contributors. * Supporting the development of content templates and style guides. * Collaborating with content creators and management volunteers. * Helping prepare content for publication on digital platforms. Expected Deliverables * Edited articles and reports. * Reviewed video scripts. * Editorial feedback reports. * Content quality guidelines. * Publication readiness assessments. * Monthly editorial activity reports.

Preferred Qualifications * Experience in journalism, publishing, communications, education, public policy, international development, or research. * Familiarity with youth development issues in Africa. * Experience reviewing policy, research, or educational content. * Experience working with nonprofit organizations or knowledge-sharing initiatives. * Understanding of editorial standards and publication processes.
