Research Scientist (RS02) (1-year contract position and renewed based on performance and availability of funds)

Requirements:

• A Masters degree in Management Sciences-related field or Rural Development. A
• A Doctoral qualification in a Management Sciences-related field or Rural Development will be an added advantage.
• Three years teaching experience at a tertiary institution or five years of professional relevant experience.
• Must be grounded in entrepreneurship and community-based research.
• Must have evidence of conducting, analysing and publishing research.
• Experience in mentoring postgraduate students and early-career researchers.
• Experience in coordinating research activities and community projects.
• Experience in writing research grants and technical reports.

Duties:

• Conduct and disseminate research findings; publish in DHET-accredited journals.
• Present papers at conferences; Develop book chapters and other scholarly outputs.
• Promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.
• Coordinate DSTI/NRF SARChI research activities.
• Prepare technical reports for stakeholders.
• Contribute to research grant proposals.
• Ensure research quality and impact.
• Supervise postgraduate students.
• Support human capital development initiatives of the Chair and the University.
• Lead community projects.
• Establish partnerships with policymakers and community stakeholders.
• Secure research grants to support the sustainability of the Chair.
• Facilitate the establishment of national and international collaborations.
• Develop partnerships with academic, industry, and community stakeholders.
