Remote Operations & Accounts Assistant (Construction)

Location: Remote (South Africa)
Company: UK-Based Construction Business
Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Approximately R4,500 – R4,800 per week

About the Role

We are a growing UK-based construction business looking for a reliable and organised Remote Operations & Accounts Assistant to support our team remotely from South Africa.

This is a full-time remote contractor role supporting day-to-day construction operations, accounts administration, subcontractor coordination, invoicing, and general administrative support.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a construction, civils, engineering, trades, or contractor environment and be comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced operational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Chasing outstanding invoices and payments
  • Managing and following up subcontractor timesheets
  • Preparing and sending invoices
  • Updating spreadsheets and operational trackers
  • Sending terms and documentation to clients and subcontractors
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly profit reporting
  • Supporting daily operations and administration
  • Following up suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Maintaining organised digital records and documentation
  • Supporting management with general operational tasks

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience working within a construction, civils, engineering, trades, or contractor environment
  • Previous administration, operations, accounts, or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Comfortable using Excel / Google Sheets
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable remote working setup
  • Comfortable working UK business hours

Preferred Experience

  • Xero or bookkeeping software experience
  • Experience supporting UK businesses
  • Construction operations administration experience
  • Supplier/subcontractor coordination experience
  • Timesheet or payroll administration experience
