About the Role:
Develop, manage, and grow the net business performance of the assigned country through B2B channels and appointed agents/distributors, ensuring achievement of sales, collection, profitability, and compliance objectives.
The role focuses on business development, agent governance, customer relationships, and market execution.
Responsibilities:
- Drive net sales growth, gross margin, and profitability for the country in line with approved targets.
- Develop and execute country commercial plans focused on B2B customers, institutional business, tenders, and agent‑led distribution.
- Act as the primary business owner for the country’s performance, including forecasting, planning, and execution follow‑up.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and key accounts within the market.
- Oversee government tenders, institutional contracts, and strategic accounts, including pricing alignment and proposal support.
- Provide oversight of commercial partners to ensure alignment with strategic direction and performance expectations.
- Monitor agent KPIs, sales execution, stock availability, and collection performance.
- Work closely with internal functions such as regulatory, supply chain, finance, and compliance to support smooth business operations.
- Resolve commercial, operational, or relationship issues with agents and customers directly.
- Own country level sales forecasts, net revenue accuracy, and collection performance.
- Ensure alignment with supply functions to support market supply requirements.
- Monitor market pricing, competitor activity, and profitability trends.
- Support budget planning inputs related to the country business and ensure disciplined execution.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical business
- B.SC. in Pharmacy or a related field MBA is Preferred.
- Strong exposure to B2B markets, distributor‑led models and institutional business.
- Proven track record in net business growth and market development.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Qualifications:
- Experience in East Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, and ivory coast.
- knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial operations within agent and distributor business models.
- Excellent understanding of net business management, including pricing structures, margins, discounts, rebates, and profitability drivers.
- Strong awareness of market access dynamics, competitor analysis, pricing benchmarks, and commercial risk assessment
