Ranch Hand – Full-Time (Housing Provided) – Remote Nevada Ranch
Location: Near Ely, NV (Approximately 50 miles north)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-site | Housing + Utilities Included
Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Ranch Hand to join a private, family-owned 160-acre ranch located in a remote mountain setting in eastern Nevada. This is a live-in opportunity that includes free housing and utilities.
The ranch is a peaceful, self-sufficient property featuring a man-made lake, greenhouse, livestock, recreational areas, and seasonal youth group activities. We are looking for someone who enjoys outdoor work, rural living, and takes pride in maintaining land, animals, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Care for and monitor livestock including chickens, turkeys, guinea hens, and fish
- Feed animals, maintain water systems, and ensure animal welfare
- Operate, maintain, and perform basic repairs on ranch equipment and machinery
- Assist with planting, irrigating, cultivating, and harvesting alfalfa and other land areas
- Maintain ranch grounds, fencing, buildings, and common areas
- Support upkeep of lake, greenhouse, and recreational facilities
- Perform general labor including cleaning, hauling, and property maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Assist with seasonal ranch activities and guest/youth group events as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in ranching, farming, livestock care, or similar outdoor work preferred
- Ability to operate basic farm/ranch equipment is a plus
- Strong work ethic with ability to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical labor regularly
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license required
