Main Purpose of Position
To maintain radio contact with road staff, prepare schedules and maintains a daily log of all events, road operations
and client liaison.
Key Performance Areas
Duties
1. Maintains radio and telephonic communication with vehiclesso that their whereabouts and actions are known at all times
Uses, ensures crews use, the codes in all radio transmissions
Ensures that the emergency procedures are known to thevehicles and that correct procedures are adhered to
Maintains and records a precise and accurate daily log sheetof all vehicles and 3rd persons movement. This includesblind radio spot notations, no service receipt numbers,
standby situations, operational reminders, failure to meetagreed schedules and non-schedules work
Phones client to confirm that a no service was requiredwhen such is given to crews
Brief new road crews on specific details of their schedules toensure maximum efficiency, courtesy and safe driving
Keeps at hand, all emergency telephone numbers within thebranchs jurisdiction
Keep maps covering the Branchs operations to facilitateschedule planning, re-routing and any other generalinformation
Carries out other duties within reason, requested orinstructed by superiors, which duties are in the interest of the company

3. Health and Safety Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementationand monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans foreach year.
Participate in safety forums created by company for examplesafety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safetymeeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programmes
Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Wear protective clothing all the time
