We are seeking a highly capable Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic construction team supporting the successful delivery of commercial and infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in managing project costs across the full construction lifecycle — from early-stage estimating and procurement through to contract administration and final accounts. You will ensure projects are delivered within budget, commercial risks are effectively managed, and value is maximised at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimating & Planning
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities from drawings and project specifications
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis to support project planning and decision-making
- Measure and value completed works for progress claims and forecasting
Procurement & Tendering
- Prepare, review, and analyse tender documents and subcontractor quotations
- Support negotiation and administration of subcontractor and supplier agreements
- Maintain accurate procurement and contract documentation
Contract Administration
- Administer construction contracts in line with Australian Standards and relevant legislation
- Assess and certify progress claims, variations, extensions of time, and final accounts
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks throughout project delivery
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and report variances
- Prepare monthly cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and profitability analysis
- Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors
Requirements
Essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
- 2–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction environments
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, contracts, and cost control principles
- Experience in estimating, measurement, budgeting, and contract administration
- Proficiency in tools such as CostX, Cubit, Buildsoft, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
