We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Quality Control (Electrical), who will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and enforcing quality standards across all mechanical works for our flagship 5-star hospitality project in North Zanzibar.

Site Information: The project consists of two sites located north of Zanzibar approximately 10 minutes apart by car

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site quality inspections for all electrical works including LV/MV systems, panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, WIRs, MIRs, and quality documentation in line with project standards.
  • Review and approve material submittals, technical documents, and inspection requests to ensure compliance with approved specifications and international standards.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor material delivery, storage, handling, and installation practices to maintain installation quality and prevent damage or non-conformance.
  • Conduct and supervise electrical inspections and testing activities including cabling tests, panel inspections, earthing resistance tests, and lighting inspections.
  • Issue, monitor, and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), ensuring proper corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams on all QA/QC and inspection-related matters.
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, test results, NCR logs, and QA/QC documentation in line with project requirements.
  • Support testing & commissioning activities and participate in final inspections and project handover processes.
  • Participate in client, consultant, and internal quality meetings to ensure alignment on QA/QC requirements and project standards.
  • Assist in managing, mentoring, and guiding the QC Electrical team to achieve project quality objectives.

Required Experience

  • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in QA/QC and site execution of electrical works within MEP or construction projects.
  • Strong experience in electrical systems including LV/MV systems, panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • Experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Proven experience in hospitality, commercial, or large-scale building projects will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, or project management consultancy environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to international projects and standards will be considered an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection methodologies, and ITP implementation for electrical systems.
  • Expertise in electrical inspection and testing activities for panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, and associated systems.
  • Good understanding of international standards and codes such as IEC, BS, and IEEE.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience in NCR management, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Good knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures and quality documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on installation quality and compliance.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Good reporting, documentation, and record management abilities.
  • Leadership capability with strong problem-solving and team supervision skills.
