Quality Control Technician I Jobs in Hereford, TX at Thermo Fisher Scientific
This is a temporary assignment with possibility for conversion to permanent after 60-90 days of exhibiting strong performance/attendance. Compensation can go up to $19.50/hr. and upon conversion you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefit package including, medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, annual merit & bonus, employee stock purchase plan, accrued 3 weeks of paid vacation and 10 Holidays (prorated based on start date).
Position Summary:
Technicians are responsible for receiving and processing material originating from the meat packing plant.
Key Objectives:
- If the shipment was shipped and a follow-up with carrier is needed to locate the late arriving or lost product, the supervisor will need to be informed.
- Transfer material from the cooler(s) to the receiving area. Make sure the content is weighed in and recorded on the Receiving Log, matches the Receipt & Cooler Manifest. Contact your immediate Supervisor with any discrepancies.
- Centrifuge the product, bottle material, test daily batches, assign lot numbers, and label control function all in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific SOP’s.
- Fill out all required paperwork related to the job (i.e. Receiving Log, Daily Production Report, Temperature Logs, etc.). Ensure SOPs are always followed in all our production processes.
- The Quality Control Technician will prepare the samples, ships samples to destination, prepare the packing list, prepare the bill of ladings, and ensure bulk material is ready for monthly shipments.
- Ensure all facility & equipment maintenance is being handled as needed and in a timely manner. Report to management immediately if any equipment is not operating accurately.
- Stay in regular contact with your supervisor to review daily operations and any other subject that could affect our operation at the lab or our collections plants.
- Perform clean-up and housekeeping duties at the end of shift (i.e. clean processing equipment, floors, walls, etc.).
- The quality control technicians are responsible for filling out the Weekly Production Report. Communicate any deviations or discrepancies of the standard operating procedures or Raw Processing Facility occurrences to the Supervisor and/or the Quality Control Technician II.
- May be responsible for performing other related duties as needed and/or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be flexible with schedule (OT & Weekends).
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift to 70lbs or 32kg.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior work experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
