Job Purpose
Responsible for reviewing, approving and monitoring all quality assurance activities related to Cosmetics ,specifically for contract manufacturers. Responsible for supporting the Consumer division on new business projects and product launch activities for Cosmetics. To ensure compliance of activities and documentation is within the Cosmetics regulations.

- Relevant tertiary qualification, Coschem Diploma , Cosmetic chemistry/relevant science qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality assurance (QA) role.
- Minimum 3years’ Production experience.
- Product development experience preferable.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a cosmetic environment.
- Good understanding and knowledge of ISO 22716.
- Excellent knowledge of Quality and GMP related to cosmetics.
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements for Cosmetics in South Africa and Africa.
- Product information file (PIF)compilation.
- Good knowledge of CTFA Compendium.
- Good understanding of the cosmetic product life cycle, including stability.
- Computer literate with at least 5 years’ experience with MS Office, including good knowledge of reporting and graphs.
English Language literacy. - Good report writing skills, including Investigations.
- Willingness to assist other cross-functional team members with Foodstuffs and CAMs portfolios, once trained.
Key Job Outputs
- Review and approve master production, specification, packaging and quality documents.
- Batch Releases, ensuring adherence to quality requirements.
- Manage queries and investigations related to releases timeously.
- Manage outsourced testing for Export orders as per the relevant country requirements, and review of associated COA’s
- Manage quality control testing and related activities.
- Manage deviations, change controls and CAPA
- Ability to work under pressure and work on several projects simultaneously across multiple processes and departments. Review and approve change controls and deviations received from contract manufacturers.
- Review investigations and CAPA from contract manufacturers related to manufacturing, customer complaints and out of specification results.
- Investigate and respond to all product queries timeously.
- Participates in projects, product launches and site transfers ensuring quality activities are executed timeously.
- Ability and willingness to learn new QA systems and adapt to change
- Participation in audits conducted on manufacturers and suppliers as needed.
- Compilation and reviews of Cosmetic SOPs according to the required Guidelines.
- Good understanding of how Product Information Leaflets for Cosmetics are compiled.
- Compilation of Product Information Files (PIF’S)as per Cosmetics regulations and applicable guidance documents .
- Assistance on special projects relating to Cosmetics.
