Key Responsibilities
As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating, joining, and repairing metal structures and components. Your daily duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG, TIG, or Stick (SMAW) welding.
- Preparing materials by cleaning, grinding, and cutting metal to precise measurements.
- Monitoring the welding process to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion.
- Inspecting finished welds to ensure they meet quality and structural safety standards.
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean, safe working environment at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Welder (minimum [X] years preferred).
- Certification: Trade test certificate or relevant welding certification is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG/TIG/Stick) and competence with workshop tools (grinders, plasma cutters, etc.).
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a solid understanding of workshop safety regulations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting materials and working in various positions.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
