As our portfolio continues to expand locally and internationally, we are seeking a QS MEP to join our team in Libya. This role is key to ensuring the smooth coordination of our Benghazi, Libya-based projects.
Role purpose
As QS MEP, you will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management across the project. You will support cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial control, with particular focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers and senior leadership to ensure disciplined cost control, accurate reporting and strong commercial governance from tender stage through to final account.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, Bills of Quantities and tender documentation, with specific focus on MEP systems.
- Carry out tender evaluations, procurement support and contractor vetting, advising on preferred procurement strategies and cash flow planning.
- Measure, value and assess variations, interim valuations and payment certifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage subcontractor valuations and assist in the preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
- Support the drafting and administration of contracts (including FIDIC-based forms) and monitor contractual compliance.
- Liaise with the professional team to prepare tender reports, commercial updates and recommendations for client approval.
What you bring
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering (QS specialisation preferred), with several years’ relevant experience.
- Proven experience delivering MEP quantity surveying services across residential, commercial, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, valuation processes and cost control principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines under pressure.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
