,Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Director to lead a multi-site manufacturing quality assurance operation. This is a senior, high-accountability role reporting directly to executive management. The successful candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, proven leadership across multi-site environments, and the confidence to make high-stakes quality decisions independently. This is not a desk-based quality management role. You will be responsible for the overall quality framework, managing a team of managers, inspectors, and specialists across multiple international manufacturing sites, and holding final acceptance authority over production output.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the overall quality authority across all manufacturing sites and vendor relationships
- Define and implement acceptance criteria, inspection protocols, and quality standards
- Manage all QA/QC personnel, including managers, inspectors, and specialist staff
- Approve and reject supplier batches and authorize final shipment clearance
- Conduct root-cause investigations and oversee corrective action plans (CAPAs)
- Oversee integrity controls and traceability systems across the supply chain
- Lead client and stakeholder quality reporting
- Manage escalations for production or compliance failures
- Maintain ISO-aligned documentation and audit systems
Requirements
- 10+ years in senior QA/QC leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience managing multi-site quality operations
- ISO 9001 certified with working knowledge of AQL sampling systems
- Background in industrial, heavy manufacturing, or complex goods production preferred
- Strong documentation control, production auditing, and supplier management skills
- Demonstrated ability to make and enforce rejection decisions under pressure
- Government or regulated-industry contracting experience advantageous
Additional Notes
Regular international travel is required. Deployment allowances and travel costs are covered separately. This is a senior, high-accountability position, candidates must be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments.
Pay: R70 000,00 – R150 000,00 per month
