Job Type: Full-time, Salaried Position
Pay: $47,000 – $55,000 per year
Schedule: 40 hours per week (overtime, weekends, and holidays as required)
Job Summary
Clymer Borough is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and perform a variety of public works functions, including street and roadway maintenance, park upkeep, and water/sewer system operations. This is a full-time salaried position reporting directly to the Borough Manager and plays a key role in maintaining Borough infrastructure and services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in Public Works Department operations
- Maintain and repair streets, curbs, and sidewalks
- Perform paving, patching, and concrete work
- Operate equipment including backhoe, skid steer, dump trucks, street sweeper, and mowing equipment
- Install and repair storm drains, manholes, curbs, and gutters
- Clean ditches and stormwater systems
- Perform park and property maintenance
- Operate snow removal equipment during winter months
- Assist with water treatment/distribution and sewer system operations
- Read water meters monthly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, public works, or roadway construction (or equivalent experience)
- Valid CDL Class B license required
- Ability to pass background checks
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform strenuous labor for extended periods
- Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment
