CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The Projectionist is responsible to ensure perfect presentation in cinema. The biggest component of these tasks entails the checking, maintaining and coordination of the cinema playlist received from Content on a weekly basis. Also responsible to ensure that the cinema is in a good condition overall (maintenance and cleanliness) and do first line maintenance whilst feeding back any further needs to the relevant parties.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
COORDINATION OF THE PLAYLISTS
- Ensure that all information on the playlists align with the line-up in cinema.
- Ensure that all downloads have been done timeously.
- Liaise very closely with the Content department.
TECHNICAL DUTIES
- Oversee maintenance of the projectors.
- Ensure that correct lamps are on for different movie formats (2D/3D)
MAINTENANCE OF THE CINEMA
- Inspect cleanliness of the cinema and inform management team of any issues relating to the customer’s experience
- Identify maintenance needs (broken chairs, etc.) and report to managers
- Do basic maintenance like replacing light bulbs in cinema
COMMUNICATION AND FEEDBACK TO MANAGEMENT TEAM
- Provides general oversight of all screens within cinema site’s compliance to basic standards for perfect screening
- Helps the Management team monitor maintenance needs.
- Keep the Management team fully informed on the condition of the cinemas on site.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Able to plan, organize, multi-task and prioritize
Strong problem solving skills and pro-active structured approach to resolve all issues
Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain good relationships
Ability to endure a deadline driven environment consistently.
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
Matric or equivalent qualification
Some technical experience/background
Ability to do small handyman maintenance jobs
Basic computer skills/experience.
Must have an eye for detail/precision
Willing to work long hours, weekends and Public Holidays
Previous Projection booth experience will be advantageous.
Knowledge of the movie industry and a passion for film will be beneficial.
Pay: R6 252,00 per month
