In this context, we are looking for a Project Readiness & Compliance Manager to drive the development and implementation of integrated management systems (IMS) and ensure full compliance throughout all project phases.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Readiness & Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that projects are executed in alignment with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
The role coordinates the development of management plans defined in the Project Execution Plan and oversees compliance activities across all phases of the project lifecycle. It requires strong coordination with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated management systems
- Ensure alignment of IMS with company policies, standards, and international best practices
- Support project teams in embedding IMS requirements into day-to-day activities
Project Readiness & Planning
- Coordinate the preparation of management plans identified in the Project Execution Plan
- Ensure all required systems, procedures, and documentation are in place prior to execution
- Assess project readiness gaps and implement corrective actions
Compliance & Governance
- Coordinate compliance activities across all project phases
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company standards, and contractual obligations
- Monitor compliance performance and implement corrective actions where needed
Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination
- Work closely with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment on compliance requirements
- Facilitate communication between operational teams and management regarding compliance matters
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory engagements
Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop compliance tracking tools and dashboards
- Provide regular reports on project readiness and compliance status
- Identify risks and escalate critical issues to senior management
Profile
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Management, or related field
- 7 to 10 years of experience in project governance, compliance, or integrated management systems within mining, construction, or large-scale industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO, HSE, project governance frameworks)
- Experience working on projects in West Africa is highly desirable
