A position is available for an experienced Professional Project Manager / Construction Project Manager in the West Rand.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Built Environment discipline such as Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying
- Professional Registration at SACPCMP as PrPM or PrCPM
- Certificate for Development & Planning for Labour Intensive Construction Projects (NQF
7) from accredited Training Service Provider - Detailed knowledge of Local & National Government processes and procedures for Project Planning and Implementation
- Sourcing of Funding (applications such as MIG; RBIG, NDPG, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management tools
- Working knowledge of change management and performance evaluation processes
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and deadlines
- Knowledge of Occupation Health & Safety Compliance Processes and Procedures
- Knowledge of Environmental Compliance Processes and Procedures
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years of project management experience as Consultant (Engineering; QS or Architecture) and/or Construction Management Environment (post PR registration)
- Preference for Project Management experience in Local Government and other spheres of government including parastatals
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a project lifecycle
- Experience in strategic (pre) planning, risk management, or change management; budget and cost control
Advantageous:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or an advanced certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Competency Certificate for Occupational Health & Safety
- Competency Certificate in MS Projects or other recognized planning software
- Competency certificates for MS Office; MS Excel and PM software
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and define, in collaboration with EPMO, the project goals, duration, scope, and deliverables that support business objectives
- Create comprehensive project, programming and cost plans to be shared with clients and other staff members
- Lead and coordinate project staff and resources to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are upheld
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones, cost and deliverables
- Identify and minimize project risks throughout its life cycle
- Communicate proactively the status, issues, and risks involved in the project to all stakeholders
- Manage budgeting and forecasting, ensuring projects are completed within the approved budget
- Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
- Ensure project compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS)
