Key Responsibilities Project & Programme Delivery

  • Manage and deliver multiple software development projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment to timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure).
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Ensure delivery is aligned to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

Modernisation & Innovation

  • Lead delivery of system modernisation initiatives, including legacy transformation and digital platform enhancements.
  • Drive innovation initiatives by enabling adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and improved delivery efficiency.
  • Support the transition to modern, scalable, and cloud-aligned solutions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with senior business stakeholders, executives, and technical teams to ensure alignment and delivery success.
  • Manage expectations across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and project status meetings.
  • Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organisation.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate delivery across cross-functional teams, including:
  • Development (Java, .NET)
  • QA & Testing
  • Business Analysis
  • Architecture
  • Dev Ops / Infrastructure
  • Ensure collaboration and alignment across all delivery streams.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks and organisational standards.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on project performance, progress, and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and delivery standards (especially in regulated environments).

Process & Delivery Excellence

  • Maintain a strong process-driven approach to delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management practices.
  • Ensure consistent use of project management methodologies, tools, and standards.
  • Promote high-quality delivery practices across all projects.

Qualifications & Experience Qualifications

  • Relevant Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field; or relevant Diploma with extensive experience.
  • Recognised project management certifications, such as:
  • PMP
  • PRINCE2*
  • Agile / Scrum certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master)

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Proven experience within the Software Development industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Extensive experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects
  • Proven experience in modernisation and transformation initiatives

Required Skills & Competencies Core Project Management Skills

  • Strong project planning and execution capability
  • Budget, resource, and schedule management
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies

Technical & Delivery Understanding

  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Enterprise application delivery environments
  • Familiarity with modern application environments (cloud, microservices, Dev Ops) advantageous

Stakeholder & Leadership Skills

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • Ability to influence and operate at executive level
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership across diverse cross-functional teams
