Project Manager – Drydock Maintenance Jobs in Cape Town at Nexus CA
Introduction:
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing drydock maintenance projects to ensure completion within budget, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
The successful candidate will liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure efficient execution of ship repair and maintenance activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage drydock maintenance and ship repair projects from initiation to completion
- Coordinate project schedules, resources, subcontractors, and operational activities
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and maritime industry standards
- Liaise with vessel owners, clients, suppliers, and technical teams
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and cost estimates
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions where required
- Manage procurement and material requirements for projects
- Conduct inspections and ensure work is completed according to specifications
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Mandatory:
- Relevant qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience related to drydock maintenance requirements
- Contactable references and copies of relevant qualifications/certifications required
Preferred:
- Experience managing technical or engineering teams
- Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and drydock operations
- Background in the ship repair industry
