Roles & Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Define project scope, objectives, schedules, and deliverables
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resources
- Lead day-to-day project execution and track performance
Cost & Commercial Management
- Prepare and manage budgets and cost forecasts
- Control project costs and protect profit margins
- Oversee invoicing, cash flow, and financial performance
Risk, Quality & SHERQ
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with safety (HSE), quality, and company standards
- Implement QA/QC systems and continuous improvement practices
Scope & Change Management
- Clearly define and control project scope
- Manage change requests, variations, and scope creep
- Ensure alignment with contractual requirements
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide direction
- Manage client relationships and stakeholder communication
- Mentor staff and support team development
Procurement & Contract Management
- Manage contracts (NEC/FIDIC) and subcontractors
- Oversee procurement processes and supplier performance
- Ensure contractual compliance and risk allocation
Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Track progress against scope, cost, schedule, and quality
- Provide regular reports to clients and senior management
- Implement corrective actions where needed
Project Closure
- Ensure completion, handover, and client acceptance
- Finalize documentation, contracts, and financials
- Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
- Additional degree (advantageous):
- Business, Engineering, IT, or Project Management
- Preferred certifications:
- PMP
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- SACPCMP (Pr.CPM)
- Master's degree (advantageous)
⏳ Experience
- 10-15+ years in project management within engineering/energy sectors
- Experience managing large-scale projects (~R150 million)
- Background in:
- Renewable energy (Solar PV, Wind)
- Electrical infrastructure (substations, distribution lines)
- Proven experience in:
- Multidisciplinary team leadership
- Contract management (NEC/FIDIC)
- Cost control and commercial delivery
- Strong track record in HSE compliance
