URGENT NEED FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER ON 1 YEAR CONTRACT IN DRC
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer plans, monitors, controls and coordinates all project quality activities and site-based activities related to Health & Safety, subcontractor management and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality — Project Quality Plan – Ensure the project scope is correctly reflected in the Project Design Pack (tower, power, layout) and approve a design pack (including Bill of Materials and Bill of Quantities) executable by subcontractors
- Quality Assurance Reviews – Execute Quality Assurance reviews of HELIOS TOWERS works, and client works on HELIOS TOWERS sites.
- Capability & Subcontractor Quality Assurance – Train subcontractors in HELIOS TOWERS installation standards and quality assurance processes.
- Health & Safety – Review subcontractor Risk Assessments & Method Statements and ensure they meet HELIOS TOWERS H&S standards.
- Subcontractor Management – Act as the onsite point of contact for appointed subcontractors, obtain regular progress reports and schedule inspection, test & commissioning visits.
- Risk Management & Scope – Proactively identify and manage project opportunities and risks; escalate project risks and issues to the Project Supervisor and Project Manager.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify improvement opportunities through structured project reviews and collaborate with Group and OpCo PM teams to improve process, quality and safety standards.
Experience
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience in complex engineering or capital projects (energy, civil, oil & gas, telecoms) with evidence of coordinating, controlling or supervising projects.
- Operational experience working in Africa and ability to operate in remote locations and manage remote teams.
- Experience supervising or managing H&S aspects of projects desirable.
- Prior experience in DRC or similar contexts desirable
