Job Description
We are seeking a talented individual to support, design, implement, and grow programmes that expand safe, inclusive, and accessible everyday cycling for all — with a particular focus on underserved and mobility-constrained communities.
The Programme Manager must be a confident cyclist who understands the lived realities of cycling for transport and can translate that insight into credible programme delivery, training, and advocacy.
- Permanent position.
- Hybrid work model with regular fieldwork in communities.
- Occasional travel required.

Essential
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in community development, outreach, mobility programmes, or NGO programme management.
- A confident cyclist with practical experience navigating real-world cycling environments (urban, peri-urban, and/or township contexts). This is a critical requirement for credibility, safety training, programme design, and community engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working in underserved communities with cultural sensitivity and respect.
- Strong facilitation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting grassroots initiatives, youth programmes, or community-based organisations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a people-centred approach.
Desirable
- Formal project-management training (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Experience in advocacy, public awareness, or behaviour-change campaigns.
- Knowledge of non-motorised transport, mobility access, or urban development. Experience in enterprise development or skills-training environments.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a community-centred approach.
