We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Programme Manager with a strong Banking background to lead the delivery of complex, strategic programmes across business and technology functions. This role requires a highly capable leader who can oversee multiple interconnected projects and workstreams, manage diverse stakeholder groups, and drive alignment between business objectives and delivery outcomes. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within both Agile and Waterfall environments and will be comfortable engaging with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders. This is a 6-12 month contract role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large-scale programmes comprising multiple projects, workstreams, and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Define and maintain programme governance structures, delivery frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure alignment of programme objectives with strategic business priorities and organisational goals.
  • Oversee programme planning, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, and dependency management.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, business leaders, and technology teams to coordinate successful programme delivery.
  • Facilitate Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, ensuring appropriate governance and execution across all programme components.
  • Identify, assess, and manage programme-level risks, issues, dependencies, and change impacts.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication across all levels of the organisation, including executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Monitor programme performance and provide regular status updates, insights, and recommendations to steering committees and executive forums.
  • Ensure benefits realisation, business readiness, and successful adoption of programme outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party delivery partners where applicable.
  • Promote best practices in programme management, governance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience delivering complex programmes within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale programmes consisting of multiple projects, workstreams, and stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong practical experience across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience leading business transformation, digital transformation, regulatory, operational, or technology-enabled change programmes.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and manage relationships with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong financial management, governance, risk management, and programme reporting capabilities.
  • Programme Management certifications such as MSP, PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile, or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-wide banking transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to digital banking, customer experience, operational excellence, regulatory change, or technology modernisation programmes.
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments and complex organisational structures.
