ABOUT SYNCEDCANCER INITIATIVE

SyncedCancer Initiative is a cancer prevention organization focused on reaching young people in Nigeria before cancer becomes a diagnosis. Our flagship program, the SyncedCancer School Outreach Program (SyncedCancer SOP), brings structured cancer prevention education to secondary schools through termly HealthSync Day events and The SyncSquad, a year-round student-led prevention club.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Program Coordinator will be the primary on-the-ground presence for SyncedCancer in Ibadan, supporting both the school outreach program and the organization’s grant funding efforts. This is a dual-focus role requiring strong relationship management, communication, and writing skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

School Outreach

•     Serve as the SyncedCancer Liaison to partner schools

•     Attend monthly SyncSquad meetings in person and support the staff adviser and student officers

•     Monitor SyncSquad activity within the club and coordinate logistics for HealthSync Day 

•     Support Ambassador onboarding and maintain program records for each school

Grants and Funding

•     Research grant and fellowship opportunities relevant to SyncedCancer's mission

•     Co-write grant applications with the Founder, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents

•     Track application deadlines and maintain a grants pipeline

•     Support reporting requirements for any secured funding

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

•     Based in Ibadan with ability to visit partner schools monthly

•     Strong written English and ability to produce clear, compelling documents

•     Interest in public health, cancer prevention, or youth education

•     Organized and self-directed, comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision

•     Prior experience in grant writing, program coordination, or NGO work is an advantage but not required
