Overview
We are seeking a Professional Civil Engineer/Technologist to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, particularly in low-cost housing projects, and be registered as either a Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (PrTech). The position will be based in the Grabouw/Villiersdorp area and will involve overseeing various civil engineering projects within this region.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee low-cost housing projects from inception to completion.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project feasibility and progress.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams as needed.
Monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure adherence to established parameters.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other project documentation as required.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (PrTech) is essential.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
Proven experience working on low-cost housing projects is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of relevant software and tools (., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, .
Proficiency in Afrikaans language is essential for effective communication with clients and stakeholders in the Grabouw/Villiersdorp region.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
