Aquafix, Inc, a biological sciences company based in Madison, Wisconsin, develops natural and sustainable biotechnologies for wastewater and lake management. This position is for a production technician who has a valid driver’s license and will be responsible for assisting with blending and packaging liquid and powdered products, running errands, and other duties as assigned. This employee will be under a probationary period while they are being trained. After 90 Days of training, he or she will be reviewed on the performance to asses if they meet the expectations and will continue in this role. This is a 1st shift position that operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Training in five rotating sectors on the warehouse floor
– Blender, Tablet Press, Vertical Form Fill Sealer (VFFS), Liquids Department & Orders
- Follow formulas and procedures to produce and package dry and liquid products
- Pick orders that are needing to be packaged and prepared for shipment
- Push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. or more; sometimes overhead lifting
- Operate a forklift to safely transport pallets and assist in loading and unloading freight trucks
- Work efficiently and responsibly with the rest of the production team
- Learn to operate large machinery and keep up on the proper maintenance
- Communicate with your coworkers and manager honestly and in a productive manner
- Thoroughly learn procedures to develop and implement improvements to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months of related experience and/or training
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions, safety requirements, and short correspondence
- Ability to add and subtract using units of weight and volume measurement
- Ability to read a scale in grams, ounces, and pounds. Must be able to convert from one unit to another.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. or more; sometimes overhead lifting
- Mechanical or construction experience is beneficial, but not required
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions commonly consist of a general warehouse environment with frequent exposure to packaged and raw chemicals, powders and other substances.
- Frequent standing and sitting for long periods of time in areas that require frequent use of safety equipment.
- Dusty conditions: respiratory protection provided
- May involve warmer and colder temperatures in the warehouse depending on the season
- Consistent medium noise with some louder machinery
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
