Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Production / Operations / Supply Chain qualification – advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with in construction or industrial manufacturing – advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and systems
  • Understanding of stock control and inventory management
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Technical fault finding and problem-solving

Responsibilities:

Production and Operations Management:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee all production activities
  • Ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
  • Monitor production processes and implement improvements
  • Identify potential production risks and implement preventative solutions
  • Drive operational efficiency and reduce waste

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards and specifications
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions

Health, Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards
  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety procedures
  • Drive a zero-incident safety culture

Stock and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee stock control, storage, and inventory accuracy
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and dispatch processes
  • Monitor stock levels and reduce variances
  • Drive improvements in stock management systems

Facilities and Equipment Management:

  • Ensure all machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained and operational
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensure workshop and facility upkeep

Team Leadership and Performance Management:

  • Lead, manage, and develop production staff
  • Monitor performance and ensure productivity targets are met
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Provide training, guidance, and continuous feedback

Customer and Operational Support:

  • Ensure customer requirements are met in terms of quality and delivery
  • Support installation, maintenance, and service activities where required
  • Maintain strong client relationships and service delivery standards

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Reduce operational inefficiencies and costs
  • Drive productivity and performance enhancements
