Role Overview
We're looking for a talented Junior Product Owner (PO) to join our growing Product team. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your product career at a mission-driven, early-stage startup.
As a Junior PO, you will support our product strategy by turning business needs and user feedback into clear, actionable user stories. You will work closely with our development team using Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies, learn how products are built, and contribute to features that delight our customers. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role with mentorship from product leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Write & Refine User Stories: Create clear, well-structured user stories with acceptance criteria that developers can build from. Learn best practices and improve your craft under mentorship.
- Backlog Ownership: Own maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, aligning with the company product strategy from Product Manager. Help translate business requirements into user stories, features and epics.
- Scrum, Kanban and Agile Participation: Actively participate in daily standups and retrospectives and own sprint reviews. Work within a Scrum/Kanban workflow with the development team and make product-behavior decisions aligning with the technical leaders.
- User Research Basics: Support user research efforts—conduct simple user interviews, gather feedback, and summarize findings. Document user personas with guidance from your mentor.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with business teams and summarize product progress. Present sprint updates and feature releases clearly.
- Documentation: Maintain clear product documentation, wireframes (with designer support), and feature specifications. Create user stories that are easy to understand.
- Metrics Tracking: Help monitor basic product metrics (user engagement, feature adoption, bug rates). Learn to connect product decisions to business outcomes.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work with designers on UI/UX refinements. Coordinate with QA on testing plans. Support the go-to-market team.
- Learning & Growth: Ask great questions, seek mentorship, and continuously improve your product thinking. Take initiative to learn the e-mobility space and Blu EV's business model.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree (any field). We care more about your potential and learning ability than your specific background.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable with data and metrics. Ability to break down complex problems into simple steps.
- User Story Writing: Understanding of how to write user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Agile/Scrum Knowledge: Understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile methodologies. Comfortable working in sprints and iterative development cycles.
- Clear Communication: Ability to articulate ideas clearly in writing and verbally. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical teams.
- SDLC Basics: Basic understanding of how software is built (requirements design development testing release). No coding required.
- Collaboration Skills: Works well in teams. Respectful of others' expertise. Open to feedback and eager to learn from engineers, designers, and business leaders.
- Initiative & Curiosity: Proactive approach to learning. Asks good questions. Eager to understand the e-mobility space and Blu EV's business model.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and keep stakeholders informed.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Business Background: 1+ years of experience in business analysis, operations, or business development. Understanding of business models and market sizing.
- UI/UX Background: Familiarity with user experience design principles. Experience with design tools (Figma). Understanding of user-centered design.
- Product Management Experience: Internship or side project experience in product management. Exposure to product thinking and customer discovery.
- E-Mobility Passion: Genuine interest in electric vehicles, sustainable mobility, or clean tech. Passion for the mission drives better product decisions.
- Data & Analytics: Familiarity with analytics tools (Amplitude, PostHog, mixpanel) or basic data analysis skills.
- Startup Experience: Previous experience at a startup or growth-stage company. Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with MENA markets, transportation industry.
- Side Projects: Evidence of shipping products, building something from scratch, or leading initiatives (personal projects, hackathons, volunteer work).

- Learn & Understand: You've learned Blu EV's products, users, and business model. You understand our current product roadmap and key metrics.
- Quality User Stories: You're writing clear, well-structured user stories that developers can easily understand and build from. Your stories include acceptance criteria and dependencies.
- Scrum Integration: You're actively participating in sprint ceremonies. You understand our Scrum process and can smoothly transition between sprints.
- Team Connection: You've built good relationships with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders. People trust your communication and attention to detail.
- Contributed Feature: You've supported the delivery of at least one feature from ideation through launch. You understand how your work impacts users.
- Research Skills: You've conducted a few user interviews or feedback sessions. You can summarize insights and propose improvements.
- Feedback Integration: You're comfortable receiving feedback and iterating. You ask thoughtful questions to improve your work.
