Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Engineering 

• Develop, review, and refine Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and process design deliverables.

• Perform process calculations including batch sizing, heating and cooling requirements, and process flow analysis.

• Specify process equipment including pumps, valves, instrumentation, and piping systems.

• Ensure process designs consider functionality, cost, durability, manufacturability, and maintenance requirements.

Project Coordination & Scheduling

• Coordinate engineering activities across sales, design, procurement, fabrication, and contractors.

• Develop and maintain structured engineering schedules and technical project timelines.

• Ensure accurate technical information flows between departments to support efficient project execution.

• Identify risks early and ensure technical delivery milestones are achieved.

Procurement & Technical Buy-Outs

• Review and approve technical specifications for purchased equipment and supplier scopes.

• Liaise with equipment suppliers and technology partners to obtain accurate technical data.

• Ensure bought-out equipment aligns with process design intent and project specifications.

Documentation & SOP Ownership

• Take ownership of the development and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and structured engineering documentation.

• Ensure technical documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with operational requirements and project standards.

• Maintain strong revision control practices for engineering drawings, SOPs, and project documentation.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Implement systems and workflows that improve engineering efficiency and project coordination.

• Identify bottlenecks and introduce practical improvements to engineering processes and internal communication structures.

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

• Engage with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to develop practical process solutions.

• Support technical quotations, project proposals, and engineering schedules.

• Participate in process safety discussions and design reviews where required.

• Support commissioning activities, and technical troubleshooting when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• BSc / BEng in Chemical Engineering.

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Experience developing and reviewing P&IDs and process documentation.

• Strong understanding of process design principles and process calculations.

• Experience specifying process equipment including pumps, valves, instrumentation, and piping systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

• Drivers License essential.

Advantageous

• Experience working within food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or related processing industries.

• Exposure to process safety principles and HAZOP studies.

• Experience working with equipment suppliers and technology providers.
