Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in cooking, plating, and presentation of meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning of ingredients
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Support catering and special event meal preparations as needed
- Serve food efficiently during meal service times while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Kitchen experience in restaurants or food service environments is preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills
- Familiarity with knife skills, meal preparation, and food industry standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and servers
