Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

  • Supervise daily operation of the powder spraying workshop to ensure production plans and targets are achieved.
  • Monitor the spray drying process, slurry preparation, tower operation, powder conveying, and post-blending activities.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Quality departments to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Analyze production performance and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and productivity.

2. Quality Control

  • Ensure detergent powder is produced according to approved quality specifications and standards.
  • Monitor critical process parameters such as slurry concentration, tower temperature, moisture content, bulk density, and particle size.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to investigate and resolve product quality issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize quality deviations and customer complaints.

3. Equipment & Maintenance Management

  • Ensure proper operation and routine inspection of spray drying equipment, mixers, conveyors, dosing systems, and related machinery.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with the Engineering team.
  • Report equipment abnormalities and ensure timely corrective maintenance.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new production equipment.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforce workplace safety regulations and company HSE policies.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals and raw materials.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective measures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop.

5. Team Management

  • Supervise and lead operators, technicians, and production assistants.
  • Allocate manpower effectively across shifts and production lines.
  • Conduct employee training and skill development programs.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Maintain discipline, attendance, and compliance with company policies.

6. Inventory & Material Control

  • Monitor raw material consumption and minimize waste.
  • Ensure accurate recording of production output and material usage.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse personnel regarding raw material availability and finished goods transfer.
  • Support stock reconciliation and inventory audits.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare production reports, KPI analysis, and operational performance summaries.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and process optimization projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in detergent powder manufacturing, FMCG manufacturing, or chemical production environments.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a production workshop.
