About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Poultry Meat Inspector to join our team and ensure that all poultry products meet the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with health regulations and supporting our commitment to delivering safe, quality poultry to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect poultry carcasses, organs, and cuts for signs of disease, contamination, or quality defects.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards (HACCP, ISO, FSSC, and related legislation).
- Monitor processing operations to verify adherence to hygiene, temperature, and handling standards.
- Record inspection results and report any non-conformances to management.
- Assist with corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality or safety issues.
- Liaise with production and quality teams to maintain consistent quality control throughout processing.
- Verify product labelling, packaging, and storage conditions.
- Participate in internal audits and food safety training sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Meat Inspection, Food Safety, or Animal Health (e.g., Meat Examiner Certificate or similar).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in poultry or meat inspection within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
