Porter/Maintenance Worker Jobs in Rensselaer County, NY at Confidential
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Floating Porter / Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of 5 residential properties. This role is primarily focused on porter and groundskeeping responsibilities, with basic maintenance knowledge required to assist with repairs and participate in an on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping communities clean and well-maintained, works well independently, and is comfortable traveling between multiple properties throughout the workweek.
Travel is required, as properties are located across multiple counties; you can expect to work at different locations on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, offices, amenities, grounds, and building exteriors
- Perform daily property walks to ensure curb appeal and overall cleanliness standards are met
- Assist with trash removal, dumpster areas, and general groundskeeping duties
- Support unit turns including trash-outs, cleaning, painting touch-ups, and minor repairs
- Complete basic maintenance tasks and assist with work orders as needed
- Identify and address maintenance concerns or safety issues during property upkeep
- Help ensure all properties remain safe, clean, and well-maintained at all times
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies
Qualifications:
- Prior porter, groundskeeping, or residential maintenance experience required
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair work
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be detail oriented
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Must be available for scheduled on-call emergency response
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Participation in an on-call rotation for evenings, weekends, and holidays: on-call bonus included
Pay: $22.00 per hour
