Planning Manager (3-month fixed term position) Jobs in Durban at Shoprite Holdings Ltd
To plan, optimise, and coordinate transport routing activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective distribution while maintaining high service levels across the supply chain. The role supports seamless collaboration between transport operations, distribution centres, and key stakeholders to drive operational efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Transport route scheduling and optimisation
- System management?(relevant within the operational and transport environment)
- Daily plan extractions
- Process Improvement and supply chain coordination between Transrite and DC’s operations
- Analyse planning and operational efficiencies
- Manage Planning related aspects pertaining to store openings and closures??
- Resolving of branch related queries within the planning (and related departments) scope
- Client service and customer communication
- Daily reporting
- Promotional tracking and execution
- Bulk scheduling
- Monitor all OK Franchise orders, queries and service levels
- Relevant Degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain / Industrial Engineering / Operational Research
- Minimum of 2 years route scheduling experience in an FMCG environment or related experience
- Experience working with SAP and distribution centre operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with route optimisation software (e.g., Ortec or similar)
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP Retail (or equivalent)
- Experience with WMS (e.g., Infor WMS or similar) and Transport Management System platforms will be advantageous
