About the role

As a Personal Portfolio Consultant, you’ll be the voice clients trust when they join, renew, or need support with their policies. This is more than a call centre role, it’s about building real relationships, creating positive customer experiences, and helping clients make informed decisions that protect what matters most to them.

You’ll connect with clients telephonically throughout their journey, from welcoming new policyholders and guiding annual renewals to resolving queries and retaining valuable relationships. Your ability to listen, communicate clearly, and find solutions will directly contribute to client satisfaction, retention, and business growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming new policyholders and explaining their cover in a clear, professional way
  • Assisting clients with annual policy renewals and updates
  • Supporting retention efforts by understanding client concerns and offering suitable solutions
  • Handling internal and external queries efficiently and professionally
  • Building long-term relationships through personalised customer service
  • Updating and maintaining accurate client records and system information
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

About you

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and knows how to communicate with confidence and empathy. You stay calm under pressure, pay attention to detail, and can balance customer care with performance targets.


You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Previous experience in a call centre, customer service, or insurance environment
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to build trust quickly
  • Strong administrative and time management skills
  • The resilience to work in a target-driven environment
  • Experience within the insurance industry and relevant insurance qualifications will be advantageous.
