Duties

  • Prepare pastry ingredients and components according to recipes and quality standards, including mixing, portioning, and organizing ingredients for efficient production
  • Assist in cake decorating, applying techniques such as piping, frosting, and finishing touches to create visually appealing desserts
  • Support food production by executing tasks related to baking, food handling, and food preparation in a fast-paced kitchen setting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety protocols at all times
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely completion of orders while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency
  • Contribute to the development of new pastry recipes and menu items by offering creative ideas and feedback

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pastry preparation or baking is highly preferred, with a strong foundation in culinary techniques
  • Demonstrated skills in food presentation are desirable
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is essential
  • Excellent knife skills, baking expertise, and familiarity with kitchen equipment are important for success in this role
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently under pressure, and excellent teamwork skills are required
  • Prior restaurant or food industry experience is required; enthusiasm for learning is key
