Pastry Chef Jobs in Camps Bay at Maritime Finance PTY Ltd

Main duties

  • Preparing desserts (cakes, pastries, tarts, mousses, plated desserts)
  • Baking bread, croissants, and other baked goods (in some kitchens)
  • Decorating cakes and desserts with precision
  • Creating dessert menus and seasonal specials (senior level)
  • Managing ingredient preparation for pastry production
  • Ensuring consistent presentation and portion control
  • Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards
  • Managing pastry stock (flour, sugar, chocolate, dairy, etc.)
  • Training junior pastry assistants or commis pastry chefs

Skills required

  • Strong baking and dessert techniques
  • Creativity and attention to detail (presentation is key)
  • Good time management (desserts often need precise timing)
  • Ability to work under pressure during service
  • Knowledge of chocolate work, sugar work, and doughs (advanced roles)
  • Clean and disciplined working habits

Pay: R10 000,00 – R18 000,00 per month
