Position: Passenger Vehicle Diagnostic / Master Technician – Gqeberha, Eastern Cape
Remuneration: Market Related dependent on skill set, knowledge, and experience
Purpose Of The Job:
Our client a leading passenger vehicle dealership in Gqeberha is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic / Master Technician to join their technical team. This role is suited to an expert-level technician who can accurately diagnose complex faults, support workshop efficiency, and uphold the highest manufacturer standards.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring first-time fix rates, reducing comebacks, and supporting workshop productivity through advanced technical expertise. Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostics on passenger vehicles using OEM diagnostic equipment
- Accurately identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
- Conduct repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and standards
- Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices
- Ensure high levels of efficiency, accuracy, and quality workmanship
- Complete job cards, reports, and technical documentation accurately
- Stay up to date with manufacturer training and technical bulletins
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and workshop procedures
Requirements:
- Qualified Motor Technician (Trade Test Certificate – essential)
- Diagnostic / Master Technician certification (highly advantageous)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a franchised passenger vehicle dealership as a Master / Diagnostic Technician
- Strong experience with OEM diagnostic systems and fault-finding
- Proven track record of accurate diagnostics and repair quality
- Valid driver’s licence
- Stable work history with contactable references
- Motor industry experience essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team player with leadership and mentoring capability
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
