Job Purpose:
The Part-Time Lecturer in Accounting is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in assigned modules within a Higher Certificate programme in Accounting. The role focuses on facilitating student learning, developing relevant academic content, and ensuring that teaching aligns with industry standards and institutional quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures in Accounting (online Mode)
- Facilitate interactive learning using case studies, practical examples, and industry-based scenarios
- Develop and update study materials in line with programme outcomes (graduate attributes) and NQF Level 5 requirements
- Design and administer assessments (assignments, tests, examinations)
- Mark and provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Support student academic development and monitor progress
- Participate in internal moderation and quality assurance processes
- Engage with the Learning Management System (Moodle)
- Contribute to continuous curriculum improvement and programme development where required
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree Accounting or related fields
- A Master’s degree will be advantageous
- At least 2–3 years’ teaching or industry experience
- Understanding of outcomes-based education and assessment practices
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
Preferred Attributes
- Previous lecturing experience in higher education (inlucding online)
- Industry experience in HR or business management
- Familiarity with online teaching and digital learning platforms
- Assessor and/or Moderator certification
Pay: R300,00 – R500,00 per hour
