Job Goal

To maintain the physical appearance of the inside and outside of all the schools in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Performs repair work on interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and various equipment, sheet rock repair, patch work.
  • Plans and prepares painting projects, e.g., measuring, cleaning, caulking, masking, spackling, removal of old paint and finishes; Mixes new paint and prepares new finishes.
  • Determines which repair jobs may be performed by maintenance painter and which must be performed by outside contractors, and advises the maintenance coordinator accordingly.
  • Supervises all painting repair work performed by outside contractors.
  • Follows proper procedure and proper use of tools in painting repair work.
  • Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains the inventory of the district-owned tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Estimates costs of painting repair projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead.
  • Follows proper disposal requirements of waste and hazardous materials.
  • Examines district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance.
  • Paint hallways, classrooms, offices, bathrooms.
  • May be asked to do other jobs besides Painting work like coming in when we have inclement weather and any other jobs asked by Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240-day employee. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
