About The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and drive the efficient delivery of food and beverage operations across multiple sites. This role is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and direction of all operational activities, ensuring service excellence and customer satisfaction in line with company policies, procedures, and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and training waiters, chefs, and scullers, while leading large teams, maintaining compliance with labour legislation, and ensuring consistent operational performance across all sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

Operational Management & Service Delivery:

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple F&B sites, ensuring service delivery meets contractual standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and compliance with company procedures
  • Ensure operational efficiency and consistent service standards across all sites

People Management & Labour Control:

  • Supervise on-site management
  • Ensure productivity, discipline, and adherence to company policies
  • Manage staffing levels, including absenteeism, leave, and relief planning
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients
  • Address service concerns and resolve operational issues effectively
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation
  • Enforce health and safety standards, including PPE usage and incident reporting
  • Monitor compliance and audit outcomes across all sites

Stock, Equipment & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and control equipment and consumables
  • Ensure effective labour cost control in line with budgets

Administration & Reporting:

  • Ensure all operational reports, documentation, and records are accurate and submitted on time
  • Track performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions where required

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in Food & Beverage (F&B) management, including the training of waiters, chefs, and scullers
  • Experience within labour broking / outsourcing environment
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential)
  • Willingness to travel extensively between sites
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills
  • Excellent people management and client relationship skills
