The Operations Superintendent (Shipping) is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, leading the team, and ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery. The role involves coordinating with customers and authorities, supporting billing accuracy, and driving operational improvements while contributing to business establishment and growth in Namibia.
Job Requirements

University graduate; certificate in logistics or related field preferred

Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities

Ability to manage sensitive shipments

Strong organizational and decision-making skills

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all emails and communications are answered and followed up in line with company standards

Provide accurate information in a professional and ethical manner

Plan, organize, supervise, and manage the daily work of subordinate staff

Monitor workflow during peak periods and manage personnel matters such as absenteeism and leave

Gather and analyze market information to support competitive pricing and service delivery

Train, instruct, and guide subordinates in job duties, including handling complex issues and conflict resolution

Identify staff development areas and provide coaching and support

Deliver high-quality customer service, including handling enquiries and resolving complaints using root cause analysis

Create an inspiring team environment with open communication

Delegate tasks, set deadlines, and oversee day-to-day operations

Motivate team members, encourage feedback, and resolve conflicts

Review operational processes regularly and implement procedural improvements

Maintain accurate records related to vessel calls and cargo movements

Submit monthly management reports as instructed
