1. JOB PURPOSE
The Operation Officer Hatchery is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the overall hatchery operations to ensure efficient production, optimal hatchability, and high-quality day-old chicks.
This role ensures that hatchery processes are executed in accordance with company standards, biosecurity regulations, and production targets while supervising hatchery teams and optimizing operational performance.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Management
· Plan, coordinate, and supervise all hatchery operations including egg reception, incubation, hatching, chick processing, and dispatch.
· Ensure hatchery production schedules are implemented efficiently.
· Monitor the performance of incubators, hatchers, and all hatchery equipment.
· Ensure proper resource planning to meet production targets.
· Production Monitoring and Performance
· Monitor key hatchery performance indicators such as hatchability rate, chick quality, fertility rate, and mortality.
· Analyze hatchery production data and identify areas for improvement.
· Ensure production targets and operational KPIs are achieved.
· Implement corrective actions to improve hatchery performance.
· Team Leadership and Supervision
· Supervise Hatchery Supervisors and hatchery workers to ensure effective team performance.
· Allocate tasks and monitor staff productivity.
· Provide training and coaching to staff on hatchery procedures and operational standards.
· Promote discipline, teamwork, and compliance with company policies.
· Quality Control and Biosecurity
· Ensure strict adherence to hatchery quality standards and biosecurity protocols.
· Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
· Ensure chicks meet company quality standards before dispatch.
· Identify and mitigate potential biosecurity risks.
· Reporting and Administration
· Prepare operational reports including production data, hatchability statistics, and performance analysis.
· Maintain accurate records of hatchery operations.
· Report on operational performance.
· Support operational planning and budgeting processes.
· Health, Safety and Compliance
· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
· Ensure staff follow safety procedures and use protective equipment.
· Ensure all hatchery operations comply with regulatory and company requirements.
5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in animal science, Poultry Production, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, or related field.
· Minimum 5–7 years of experience in poultry production or hatchery operations.
· Strong knowledge of hatchery management and poultry production systems.
· Leadership and team management skills.
· Strong analytical and reporting skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
· Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
