Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Town, responsible for overseeing day-to-day service delivery across assigned contracts and sites. This role includes planning and managing cleaning operations, supervising teams, and ensuring work quality meets contractual and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager monitors performance indicators, manages budgets and resources, and implements continuous improvement initiatives. Duties also involve maintaining strong client relationships, addressing operational issues promptly, coordinating staff training and development, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies. The role requires regular site visits, reporting on operational performance, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong operational management, planning, and organizational skills, with experience overseeing multi-site or large teams.
- Proficiency in staff supervision, performance management, and workforce scheduling within service or facilities environments.
- Skills in customer relationship management, communication, and conflict resolution to support client satisfaction.
- Ability to manage budgets, analyze operational data, and use reporting tools or systems for decision-making.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance, particularly in cleaning, facilities, or related industries.
- Relevant qualification or diploma in Operations Management, Facilities Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in contract cleaning, facilities services, or service operations management is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with on-site work, including regular site inspections, and the ability to work flexible hours as operational needs require.
- Competence in using standard office software and operational management systems.
