Role Overview
The P&O Operations Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management and optimisation of People & Organisation processes, including Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML), Talent Acquisition (TA), Learning & Development (L&D), and People Master Data Management (PMDM). This is a hands-on, onsite role requiring regular presence at operational locations (e.g., mines, WICs), ensuring seamless execution of people processes and supporting large-scale business process outsourcing (BPO) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- JML (Joiner, Mover, Leaver) Process Management
- Oversee and continuously improve onboarding, internal mobility, and offboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all JML-related queries onsite.
- Talent Acquisition (TA)
- Partner with business leaders to understand workforce requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for onsite roles.
- Liaise with external recruitment partners and agencies as needed.
- Learning & Development (L&D)
- Coordinate and deliver training programmes for onsite staff.
- Identify skills gaps and recommend appropriate learning interventions.
- Track and report on L&D activities and outcomes.
- People Master Data Management (PMDM)
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of employee data.
- Oversee data entry, maintenance, and reporting in HR systems.
- Support audits and compliance checks related to people data.
- Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
- Lead and support BPO projects, ensuring efficient management and delivery.
- Act as the onsite liaison for BPO service providers.
- Drive process improvements and standardisation across all people operations.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with onsite leadership, employees, and external partners.
- Provide expert advice and support on all P&O operational matters.
- Operations Management
- Monitor and report on key operational metrics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in HR operations, with a strong focus on JML, TA, L&D, and PMDM.
- Extensive experience in business process outsourcing (BPO) environments, ideally supporting large-scale clients.
- Proven track record in operations management, preferably in mining, industrial, or similar sectors.
- Previous management consulting experience with leading firms is highly desirable.
