Job Summary
This is a full-time position, starting at $22.48/hour; 40 hour work week, full benefits available. DPW employees work under an ASFCME NY council 66, Local 1783-C contract. Hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM M-F. Ability to be on-call 24/7 approximately one week a month per an assigned schedule year-round is required. Anticipated start date in June of 2026.
Duties
Employee would work with medium motorized equipment in the performance of a variety of assigned tasks which includes but is not limited to:
- Maintenance of streets, sidewalks, park, facilities, street trees, sewers, snow removal, garbage collection, equipment, etc.
Equipment to be operated includes but is not limited to:
- Pickup trucks, single axle dump trucks, mini-excavator, snowplows and salters, sidewalk plows, mini-loader, woodchipper, stump grinder, lawn mowers, weedwhackers, chainsaws, etc.
Candidate performs, manual labor as directed. This job is mostly outdoors. Ability to be on-call 24/7 approximately one week a month per an assigned schedule year-round.
Requirements
- Experience in the operation of medium/heavy duty specialized motor equipment and two years’ experience in landscape installation and maintenance.
- Possession and maintenance of a NYS Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) B License no restrictions, for a minimum of one year prior to employment.
- Reliable transportation
